“Metochi” (monastic farmland) of Mount Vatopedi on Mount Athos is built on two small islands in the Porto Lagos Lagoon. In one stands the church of Agios Nikolaos and in the second one the chapel of Panagia Pantanassa, with a copy of the miraculous image that exists in Vatopedi. There are bridges connecting the islands to the land, and between them.
